November Theme: “My Brain, My Way”
Disney Theme: Ratatouille
Tagline: “Anyone can cook”
Message: Everyone learns differently, and that’s a strength
Inspired by Disney’s Ratatouille and the message “Anyone can cook,” we will be reminding our students that there isn't just one right way to learn, create, solve a problem, or show what you know.
Just like Remy discovered that his unique talents could take him somewhere unexpected, each of our students has unique strengths, interests, ideas, and ways of thinking.
Some students learn best by talking it out. Some need to move, draw, build, practice, read, write, explore, or try something more than once. Some students need quiet time to think, while others thrive when they collaborate with friends. Different doesn't mean less. Different can mean powerful.
At Peralta Trail, we want our Bobcats to discover what works for their brains, recognize their strengths, and develop the confidence to say:
“I may learn differently, but I can learn.
I may think differently, but my ideas matter.
I may solve it differently, but I can find a way.”
This month, let's celebrate the many different ways our Bobcats learn, think, create, and grow. Because there is no one-size-fits-all brain—and that's what makes each of us special! 🐾
💡 Try This at Home!
Ask your Bobcat: “What helps your brain learn best?” Then talk about it together.
Maybe your child learns best when they:
- 🗣️ Talk through an idea
- ✏️ Draw or write it down
- 🧱 Build or create something
- 🚶 Move while thinking
- 👥 Work with a partner
- 👀 See an example
- 👂 Hear someone explain it
- 🔄 Try it more than once
- 🤔 Have quiet time to think
There isn't one “right” way to learn. The goal is to discover what helps your brain do its best thinking.
This month, celebrate your child's unique learning strengths and remind them: “Your brain is amazing. Your way of learning is worth discovering.”
