Trail Talk

Principal Smith

Dear Bobcat Families,
Welcome back to another amazing school year! I hope this message finds you relaxed, recharged, and ready for the exciting year ahead. Whether you’re returning for another year or joining our Bobcat community for the first time, we are thrilled to have you as part of our school family.
There’s something truly special about the start of a new school year—the energy, the anticipation, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Our dedicated staff has been working hard over the summer to prepare a nurturing, engaging, and enriching environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
This year, we are committed to deepening our connections with students, families, and each other. We believe that strong relationships are the foundation of a successful school experience, and we look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s growth and success.
Let’s make this year one to remember—full of discovery, growth, and Bobcat pride. Thank you for your continued support, and here’s to a fantastic school year ahead!

With Bobcat spirit,
Mrs. Smith

School Site Council

SY26 PTES School Site Council

If you are interested in serving on our Peralta Trail School Site Council (SSC) for the 2025-26 school year, please reach out to Mrs. Smith at (pat.smith@goaj.org).

We are looking for two more parents to serve on our council. SSC is a group made up of teachers, staff, parents/guardians, community members, and the principal. SSC will meet once a quarter for the 2025/26 school year at 5:00 PM in the library (MEETING DATES: 8/5, 11/18, 2/17 & 4/9).
The purpose of the SSC is to review school site issues and make recommendations to the school administration. It is important to remember that School Site Council members don't just represent their own interests, they have an obligation to give advisement to the principal and help to make decisions that will best serve the whole school community. Thank you for your consideration to serve on this council for the upcoming school year!

Meet the Teacher Night!

Gate
Thank you to our Bobcat families who were able to join us for Meet the Teacher Night on Friday. It was such a joy to see all of you and to hear how excited our students for the first day of school. Thank you again to Resolution Copper and our PTO who are supporting our students by providing their "Back to School supplies" this year! If you were unable to attend, you are able to access ParentVue to see who your child's teacher will be this year. *Kindergarten students will go through our skills screening the first few days of school to be sure we form balanced classrooms; you will find out who your child's teacher will be on Friday, July 18th.

PTES PTO

It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over, but it’s true…school resumes on Wednesday 7/16, and we are all so excited to see our Bobcats spring back into action!

PTES Bobcats PTO is jumping into the new school year with full force, so be on the lookout for updates via Parent Square, as well as some papers being sent home by the end of the week – check those backpacks! Peralta Trail Elementary is fortunate to have cultivated a wonderful partnership with Resolution Copper, who has played a major role in funding Lego League, after-school clubs, and even all students’ school supplies for the new school year. Words can’t really express our appreciation, but we’ll sure try to show them every chance we get!

We will be hosting our first “Boohoo or Yahoo” kindergarten parent breakfast on Wednesday 7/16 from 8:15-8:45am in the school gym, where our PTO will get a chance to engage with our new Bobcat families during a light breakfast together. We will have volunteer forms, informational brochures, and spirit shirts available for sale/order as well. More info to come on Parent Square from the kinder teachers, but please use the link below to let us know if you can attend (or not):

Our first PTO member meeting of this school year is scheduled for Tuesday 9/16 at 4 pm (location TBA), where we will be introducing all our members and discussing plans for this year. Whether you are looking for volunteer opportunities, seeking information regarding upcoming events, or just want to meet other Bobcat community members, we hope to see you there! If you aren’t interested in attending our meetings, you can still see all the latest news by following us on Facebook using the QR code and/or link below. You can also reach out to us directly at PTESBobcats.PTO@gmail.com with any questions or suggestions.

Let’s all work together to make this the best year yet, it’s great to be a Bobcat!

AJUSD Cell Phone Policy

Last year, AJUSD adopted a cell phone policy for our campuses. Thank you for your support and reminding your child of our Cell Phone Policy. Last year we only had a few issues and students were more focused during the school day. If a student has a cell phone, once on campus they are to turn it off and secure it in their backpack as it is not permitted to be out during school hours. Please see the new policy below:
